With increasing global interconnectedness, the gender gap in mobile phone ownership and usage is widening, and women are bearing the brunt of its impact, especially in low- and middle-income nations. This discrepancy not only impedes the progress of the mobile industry but also deprives women of crucial prospects and resources.
BICTO spearheaded the Data Center 101: A Beginner’s Guide to Data Center Best Practices for Women held on 07 March 2023 at Jehan Hall, Alnor Hotel & Convention Center, Cotabato City.
Jonathan M. Mantikayan, PhD.IT, BICTO Executive Director II, stressed on his welcome address that this activity is anchored to the Enhanced 12-Point Priority Agenda of Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim item no. 2 Digital Infrastructure and E-Governance, Build the needed digital infrastructure allowing for improved availability and accessibility of a digitized government, enhanced data privacy and security, and enhanced e-governance framework across the BARMM.
“Today’s activity is a manifestation that we, in the Bangsamoro region is moving forward towards a digitized form of government and we are not now being left behind in terms of digitalization program throughout the country” he added.
The activity allows the participants to appreciate and be informed on the emerging new technologies that would help them in the workplace and strengthen their services for the Bangsamoro community.
