The Development of ICT Infrastructure Needs Tool took place from July 18 to 21, 2023 at Blue Lotus Hotel in Davao City. This event was organized by the Bangsamoro Information and Communication Technology Office with the aim of creating a specialized tool to assess the ICT infrastructure needs of the entire Bangsamoro region.
The workshop attracted the participation of IT Officers from diverse ministries, offices, and agencies, each bringing their unique perspectives and expertise in the field of information and communication technology. Representatives from nearby institutions, Mindanao State University – Maguindanao and Cotabato State University, also joined to lend their insights and academic knowledge to the development process. Furthermore, the workshop had the privilege of hosting a distinguished guest, Mr. Jurgen Weiss, an esteemed ICT Specialist from UNOPS-SUBATRA. The highlight of the event was the presence of Ms. Grace Amberong, a renowned and highly respected ICT expert resource speaker hailing from Metro Manila.
The Development of ICT Infrastructure Needs Tool workshop was a resounding success, exemplifying the spirit of unity and progress within the region. The diverse expertise and perspectives brought by the IT Officers, academic representatives, and resource speakers proved instrumental in creating a tool that would be the cornerstone of future ICT endeavors in the Bangsamoro region.
The developed tool is poised to transform how ICT infrastructure needs are assessed and addressed. By gathering accurate information about the current state of infrastructure, identifying gaps, and understanding specific needs, the tool will empower decision-makers to allocate resources effectively and drive the region’s ICT development in the right direction.
As the participants bid farewell to one another, they carried with them not only the knowledge gained but also the lasting connections forged during this workshop. The success of the event serves as a testament to the Bangsamoro region’s commitment to leveraging the power of technology to pave the way for a brighter, more prosperous future.
