26 – 27 September 2022 | Darul Aman Suite & Function Hall
BICTO conducted the Gender Sensitivity Training last September 26 – 27, 2022 at Darul Aman Suite & Function Hall. The activity is expected to; (1) to strengthen BICTO’s employee awareness of the gender roles, expectations and issues and their impact on as the community’s day-to-day life; (2) to develop an understanding of basic gender concepts and their application to the long- term implementation of programming and initiatives; (3) to provide participants with a better understanding of the attitudes of men and women; (4) to develop a better understanding of the term gender; and (5) to examine notions of the nature, origin, extent and effects of gender. BICTO sought the expertise of Ms. Daisy Jane Usman, JD from Bangsamoro Transition Authority.
The Gender Sensitivity Training is an initial effort to show how gender shapes the roles of women and men in society, including their role in development, and how it affects relations between them. It is given to those who have very little gender awareness or none at all. For people in government to appreciate GAD and eventually become its advocate, they first have to heighten their awareness of gender concerns and be willing to respond to gender issues.
